SUPPORT US

Make a difference… volunteer your time

Join our team of dedicated volunteers and help provide access to low cost, high quality health care, education and advocacy in our community.

All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application, interview, orientation, reference and background check.  Some volunteer opportunities may require additional training and/or updated Tuberculosis screening and immunization records.  For volunteer opportunities in the Orange County area please call 714-633-6373.  For volunteer opportunities in the San Bernardino/Upland area please call (909) 890-5515 ext. 3 or email us at volunteers@pposbc.org.

Volunteer opportunities vary based on the needs of the agency and the skills of the volunteer.  Below you will find a sampling of our most popular volunteer opportunities.

Pro-Choice volunteer night:  Hosted one night each month, Pro-Choice Volunteer Night gives volunteers an opportunity to meet other local advocates while working on group projects, such as assembling patient charts or mailing invitations to an upcoming event. Ideal for volunteers that want to stay involved with the local pro-choice community, but are unable to make a long-term commitment.

Community outreach:  Represent PPOSBC at health and information fairs throughout Orange and San Bernardino Counties to provide information to hundreds of people about our Health Education programs, WIC program, and medical centers. Additional training and criminal background check required.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC):  Assist WIC staff by greeting clients seeking nutrition education and supplemental food vouchers; prepare classrooms for nutritional presentations, and assemble packets of educational information. Minimum commitment of three hours per week and criminal background check required.

Administrative support:  Assist PPOSBC staff with the work that keeps us running smoothly! Projects are scheduled on an “as-needed” basis, and may include assembling packets of information, revising manuals, data entry, mailings and filing.

Public Affairs:  Help elect pro-choice candidates and advocate for policies that protect reproductive freedom. Visit elected officials to advocate for pro-choice legislation, collect letters of support from pro-choice community members, and organize against anti-choice policies that affect our local community.
