STD testing with symptoms

This appointment is for patients who have symptoms they think might be from a sexually transmitted disease (STD). During this appointment we offer testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV. Next-day appointments are available.

STD testing without symptoms

This appointment is for patients who want to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). We offer testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV. We can answer your questions about STDs and discuss how to prevent STDs with safer sex.

Pregnancy testing
Pregnancy tests are generally done from a urine sample and if you are pregnant, you will be counseled about all of your options.

HPV vaccine (Gardasil)
This is also known as the vaccine that can help prevent certain types of cancer. The human pappiloma virus (HPV) vaccine is available for males and females to protect against the types of HPV that most commonly cause health problems. These include cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, vulvar cancer, anal cancer and genital warts. HPV vaccines are given as 3 shots over 6 months.

Well-woman Exam
A Well-woman exam is a periodic wellness appointment for women. It may include a breast exam or Pap test. We may also talk about prevention tests you need and birth control options.

New birth control
Birth control lets you prevent pregnancy and plan when you want to get pregnant. We can go over all of your birth control options and help you choose the right option for you. If you are interested in an IUD or Implant, please choose the "IUD/Implant insertion or removal" option below.

Birth control refill or change
This is for patients who are using birth control now and want to change their method or request a refill. If you are want to change to an IUD or Implant, please choose the "IUD/Implant insertion or removal" option below.

Emergency contraception
Emergency Contraception (EC) ONLY works within 120 HOURS (5 days) after unprotected sex. We offer two types of EC at our health centers: the ParaGard IUD and 2 different types of EC pills. The ParaGard IUD is the most effective method and can be used for continued birth control.

IUD/Implant insertion or removal
IUD stands for "intrauterine device" and is a t-shaped device made of flexible plastic that is inserted into a woman's uterus to prevent pregnancy and can l.ast up to 12 years.
A birth control implant, also called Implanon or Nexplanon, is a matchstick-sized rod that is inserted in the arm and can prevent pregnancy for up to 3 years. We offer IUD and Implant services at all of our health centers.
If you want an IUD, we need to first check if you may be pregnant. If you may be pregnant, we may delay your IUD insertion. You will take 600-800mg of Ibuprofen (3-4 over the counter pills) with food 30 minutes before your appointment.

Infection check
This appointment is to check any abnormal symptoms you may be having. These may include bumps on, or discharge coming out of, the vagina or penis, pain in your genitals or pelvis, or itching or pain when you pee.

Breast exam
This appointment is to check for any problems with your breasts.

Colposcopy

A colposcopy is a way to get a close-up view of the cervix to look for abnormal cells that may cause cancer. They are generally done when a woman has an abnormal Pap or HPV test.

Prenatal care (care during pregnancy)

Prenatal care is the care you receive during pregnancy to make sure you and the developing fetus are healthy and strong. These checkups let you ask any questions you may have and include any needed tests.

Fertility

When a woman is fertile, it means that she is able to have children. There are several ways to track your fertility to help you get pregnant.

Sterilization (permanent birth control)

Sterilization is permanent birth control where a health care provider closes or blocks the fallopian tubes during surgery. This prevents the woman's eggs from being released and meeting sperm.
