HEALTH EDUCATION

Train the Trainer
We know that people who work with youth and individuals with disabilities
are faced with challenging questions and requests for advice about sexuality
every day. Our training is designed to give social service workers, group
home leaders, teachers, faith leaders, and others realistic answers and
solutions to their client’s questions and problems.
Classes cover topics such as how to refrain from imposing personal values
about sex, using “teachable moments” for positive communication,
and answering client’s questions within the boundaries of your agency.
Information about birth control, STIs, anatomy and physiology, and tobacco
dependency is also available. Classes range from 1 to 4 hours and are
available in both English and Spanish.
We are also able to train California public school teachers on SB 71 compliance.
According to the California Education Code, teachers are required to offer
comprehensive sexuality education. However, many teachers are faced with
limitations and boundaries set by their school districts or individual
schools.
We’re able to work with your needs and provide supplements for
your textbooks. In addition, we can help you develop techniques for discussing
these sensitive issues in a respectful manner that falls within the scope
of your district’s boundaries.
