Male.Motivation.Movement. (M³)
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties is proud to have the only Office of Family Planning funded Male. Motivation. Movement. (M³) in Orange County. M³ focuses on the male’s role in teen pregnancy and STI prevention, and has two main goals:

1) To actively raise awareness of the male role in reducing teen pregnancies, early unintended fatherhood, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

2) To give adolescent and adult men the understanding and skills they need to make the best choices for themselves and their partners.

Rap sessions and 3- to 5-part presentations are the primary methods for reaching young men at alternative high schools, juvenile detention facilities, and other community-based organizations that serve men. Classes are available both in English and Spanish.

Rap sessions cover topics like:

• Masculinity and gender

• Stress and anger management

• Values clarification and diversity

• Effective communication and listening skills

• Sexuality: what is it?

• Healthy and unhealthy relationships

• Casual or committed? Cohabitation or marriage?

• Abstinence, contraception and disease prevention

• HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections

• Fatherhood

• Sexual assault

• Alcohol and other drugs

• Job readiness

• How to plan a budget

Young fathers
M³ provides services for young fathers to ensure their success as parents. We approach each teen father as an individual and help him to set goals like getting a high school diploma, beginning a college education, and preparing for a career.

Young fathers also learn about developing financial literacy skills, healthy relationships, comprehensive sexual education and parenting skills.

The program is offered in informational sessions or in one-on-one education sessions.

Informational sessions can vary up to 10-12 separate sessions. One-on-one education is available at any time with a certified Health Educator.
