Roe v. Wade Anniversary Celebration

“We’ve come a long way since Roe v. Wade became law 35 years ago, but there is still a long way to go,”

said Jon Dunn, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood, Orange & San Bernardino Counties during a speech he gave at a celebration dedicated to the anniversary of the groundbreaking law on January 24th, 2008.

The event was held at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach with over 260 supporters, local politicians, students and activists joining in the celebration. Our keynote speaker was Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post. Actress and activist Beth Broderick served as the emcee. State Assemblyman Jose Solorio of the 69th District, former State Assemblywoman Marilyn Brewer, former County Supervisor Harriet Wieder of the 2nd District and former judge Sheila Sonenshine, were also on-hand for the festivities.
